Review of Lies Jane Austen Told Me by Julie Wright

Hello Readers,

Something you may not know about me is that I LOVE Hallmark movies. I love the sweetness, the predictable storyline, and the always happy endings. When life seems overwhelming you can always count on a Hallmark movie to bring you a bright story with a happy ending. That being said I don't actually have cable in order to watch the Hallmark channel. I have sweet friends who invite me over to watch it and my mom's house is always available for a good binge of my favorite movies, but since it's not in my house I don't get to indulge as much as I would like. A very fun way to fix this problem is with BOOKS! I hope you're not surprised by my quick fix. Lies Jane Austen Told Me by Julie Wright is basically a Hallmark movie in book form. I loved its predictable storyline and easy to love characters.

I read this book in two days because it was just the book to read while my son and husband played video games at the end of the day as a special treat. I could easily stop reading it and easily pick it up and be back in the sweet story.

Emma has always trusted Jane Austen for all matters concerning the heart until she decides that maybe Jane isn't the best to turn to for matters of the hearts since Jane never even got married in real life. Jane is a hard habit to break and Emma finds herself not completely breaking up with Jane because who can really live their life without an airing of Colin Firth in a wet shirt every now again. Emma is a strong woman and trying to uphold her new position in a health fitness empire. She is putting her career first and personal and love life second. After being completely betrayed by her boyfriend Emma is even more focused on her goals at work until her ex-boyfriend's brother comes to work for her company as a consultant. Everything changes and Emma needs to decide what her priorities are, what love actually is, and can she let herself fall for the brother of the man she just ended a relationship with?

If you are looking for a sweet contemporary romance then I would recommend this book. Lies Jane Austen Told Me is the first contemporary romance book in the proper romance series. I couldn't be more thrilled that they are bringing these sweet stories into modern day. I have talked of the proper romance books plenty on this blog before because I love the sweet stories and the fact that the romance storyline is never filled with stuff that makes me squirm a bit in my chair. They are just delightful books to read and I am always happy to read the newest addition in the series.
